Things are not always as they appear. It never fails to amaze me how many times I can apply that sentence to a lesson I've learned over the years. As I stand back and look with confusion, sadness and annoyance at myself, realization hits and I am left with a faint essence of what I thought it was, not really what it is.



There are very few things in this world that I can say without a doubt that what is before you is what is before you. Not an illusion or some facade that was dreamed up for reasons unknown to anyone but itself. It's real. It's true. It really is what it is.



These things are much like a book to me. When looking at the cover you can see the detail in the image and maybe gain some kind of idea what its about from the title. But when you actually open and read the book, that is where you learn the story and see what happens. Perhaps some characters make it to the next chapter, or next few chapters, only to fade away because or one reason or another. For whatever reasons, they are gone and the book continues on. Each chapter brings something new and exciting. Whether it be new characters, new adventures of even rekindling of sorts.



At this point I am curious and filled with wonder at how my chapters are going to play out. It will always be a time will tell feeling for me.



While there are moments that I am saddened that things did not appear as they should have been, I am even more excited and delighted that somethings still are. And it even makes me more so delighted that somethings turned out even better than what they seemed.



The lesson I've learned over time is this-



Not everything is what it seems and situations may be different than how they appear. It takes time to figure these things out... that is if you want to take the time. If not, then some people will just live on assumptions; never moving on, never moving forward.



Change. Learning. Growing.

I do these everyday and I have some of the most amazing people going through these with me.

As difficult as some things may be. If we did not change, learn or grow? we would become stagnant.



Remember too, that the cover of a book, does not always reveal the story.



Sometimes, one must simply look to the future.
